This story was original, imaginative, and true to its roots. I loved Binti as a character; she was resourceful, respectful, and ready to take on the world, even at the cost of rejecting the life that was planned for her. I believe this novella had a really strong start, but kind of fell off midway through. By the ending, it was idealistic and ignored some glaring issues that I’m having a hard time accepting. Overall, I think the book’s synopsis sets it up for a different story than what it really is. A decent read nonetheless! I’d definitely try something else from this author.

I always enjoy the worldbuilding this author creates. It’s just so vastly unique and Binti was just another strong FMC created by the author too.
