ARC provided by NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group <3 YES. This was actually everything I hoped for. The characters, the character arcs, the storyline, the anxiety induced by "I'm at 87% and there's not a third act conflict in sight." I was in a chokehold and now I need to go read the first book in this series. I spent almost the whole book either smiling, giggling, kicking my feet, or a combination of the three. This is absolutely a feel good romance with the emotional complexity I crave from adult romance novels. 10/10 no notes, go read it, I promise it's worth it.

Reece is Tegan's brother. He's training to compete in the local triathlon but he's got his work cut out for him in the swimming department. When Tegan's mate, Atlas, offers for him to train at his gym, he takes him up on it and ends up running into Cyrus, a Kraken. Cyrus instantly knows that Reece is his mate from their first touch but doesn't want to scare him away. He offers to help train Reece and Reece agrees, knowing he needs the help. I really enjoyed this story. I felt that Reece was able to finally open his eyes and see that not all monsters are scary or bad. And I loved that Cyrus never pushed Reece even when he knew they were meant to be.
