unfortunately i think i just expected too much from this sequel. i absolutely loved the rose bargain and the ending had me so excited for something darker this unfortunately just didn't deliver, which seems insane to to say because people were literally dying in front of ivy, i was just bored. it felt like everything turned out to mean.. nothing?? the one thing that made me put the book down and do a lap turned out to be a joke that was almost immediately resolved. bram, one of the most exciting villians in recent reads, is barely in this except to preside over yet another set of trials. of course there is a hea but it all felt like it worked out a little too well and there weren't any real stakes. Thanks so much to Harper Collins for this eARC
