4.5 ⭐ I thoroughly enjoyed this book (the whole series, really). I loved the humorous inner dialogues and the great banter between the couple. The one annoying thing is how much Russian dialogue had no translation, so I needed to be by my phone or pc while reading so I could look up the translations (and there were many). I loved both Mila & Ronan, and it was fantastic to see Kristian, Gianna, and their daughter Kat make an appearance. Gianna and her daughter were hilarious, and it was adorable to see Ronan's interaction with his niece. Ronan had it bad for Mila. It was cute how he scared and threatened the hospital staff when she was injured. That he gave up his revenge for her and gave her some space was very telling. At the end, when he found a relative of hers was very touching. Although not fond of the break they took from each other, it was sweet that he gave her the dog for company and, unbeknownst to her set her up with a job. “I’ve never known Ronan to tie a woman to a bed only to leave her there. I hope it’s just a phase.” I was beginning to understand crazy was just the norm around here. “We can only hope,” I said drily. Fuck. That wasn’t what I expected her to say. I anticipated a silent blush or for her to ask for an orgasm. Not me, her goddamn kidnapper. And right after I insulted her no less—which was a reflex to get her out of my bed before I took what she was offering. She had no reservations about putting herself out there. Her soft heart was going to get her killed. How she’d survived so long and still maintained her innocence was a mystery. “You’re embarrassing yourself.” “I’m not the one with a hard-on,” she returned.
