The mystery part of this story is what made the book; the romance portion wasn't that great. I really liked Enzo. Sawyer was a bit meh. The sexual tension between them was high, and the spicy scenes were good. Their relationship at the beginning was quite toxic, despite having a lot of chemistry. One thing I couldn't understand or suspend enough belief in was the MCs believing the story about the ghosts haunting the lighthouse. “Because I want to be the only thing that keeps you up at night, bella ladra,” he growls. “And if anyone is going to hurt you, it’s going to be me.” I want to protect her while also wanting to protect myself from her. Except this time, it sets my insides aflame, and I want to return that look with a smile that says Never let me go.

Sawyer is running away and needs yo be someone else I ordered to do that. So she takes what she needs and disappears. She ends up in Australia and meets Enzo. She has a night with him and sees her chance to get away again. Before she does, Enzo finds out what she's done, and he finds her and persuades her to join him on his boat. He scares her and plans to turn her in when they get lost in a storm and become stranded on an island. They must make the best of this horrible situation and eventually have to work together to survive. I really enjoyed this story! Sawyer was such a survivor and didn't even realize how strong she was. Also, I really enjoyed the mystery of what was going on on the island.
