I love Stephanie's writing. This book was so much fun. I loved Hayden The way that man had been in love with her for 8 whole years just killed me and I loved Darcey her insecurities over so much because of Kit made me so mad, but her having Hayden there to build her back up? Swoon city! I cant wait for the next book! (All spoilers are for the full book!)

as someone who actually watches hockey and has a basic understanding of how the overall industry works, this book was annoying. coaches do not trade players, general managers do. defenseman at an elite level do not suddenly start playing forward. experts review footage and analytics to make improvements to the team, so no, they don't need some girl's "just for funsies" models. while I can appreciate that the author tried something a little different by leaning into the sports aspect a little more, someone needed to do better research or editing to make it even an iota more realistic to how the industry actually functions. even just having one person who casually watches professional hockey read this during editing would have made a world of difference. rant aside, I'm sad that those aspects peeved me so much because I love the friends-to-lovers trope. I liked the main characters and their relationship; the pining and the occasional goofiness was soooo good. they're so supportive of one another and too shy to admit their feelings even though it's so clear that the other feels the same. the romance aspect was truly top-tier. if you're a girlie who thinks hockey is played with a ball and not a puck, I recommend this wholeheartedly. if you're a girlie who cares if a sport she loves is represented accurately on page, avoid this with a ten-foot pole.
