This book is what would happen if Harry Potter and Star Wars had a baby, and then that baby had a baby. As this was Lauren’s debut novel, she really knocked it out of the park. I loved this world and characters so much. Most of this book is set in a magical school where our MMC Mal(Anakin is that you?) end ups tutoring our FMC Maeve in combat. Both of them are top of their class in different subjects. They end up uncovering a secret and go on some crazy adventures. And of course, they fall in love. The world building in this was amazing. If I could create my perfect world this is what I would choose to bring to life. The characters are well developed and the relationship between Maeve and Mal was very well done. This was the perfect set-up to the second book in this series! If you loved Harry Potter, Star Wars, and thought you could save Anikan from the dark side.. read this book. And then read the second one because it’s EVEN BETTER!!!
