The Bond That Burns
At Bloodwing Academy, blood is currency, but a dragon's legacy is priceless—and as dangerous as fire. I thought surviving my first year in Bloodwing's deadly halls would be enough. I was wrong. I accidentally woke a dragon—a creature of myth, of death, of fire. Now, every highblood house...

This book was so gooood!!! I loved it and it was such an easy read. Especially the last 25% of the book really grabbed my attention and I did not want to stop reading it!! The first book was very heavily focused on the world building and I felt like it basically gave you all the context that was needed in order to understand the main problem and the main struggle of the main characters. I hoped the second book got more into the actual story, and it did mostly. I still feel as if we are just at the beginning of the story and I think, again, that this book sets up perfectly for the third book. Here are my (spoiler) thoughts at this moment as an ADHD girlie: I LOVE LOVE LOVE Medra and Blake, cannot STAND Marcus and Victor. Rodriguez is getting on my nerves with how secretive he is. Did laugh very much when he told Blake and Kage he was part of a one-man-revolution group. OMG AND FLORENCE AND FLUFFIN, they have stolen my heart!!! I LOVED Florence POV in the books too!! Wait, what will happen with Florence tho??? She won't die lets be honest, but if she gets a mixture of Nyxaris and Medra's blood, will she become a dragon rider too??? Does this mean Florence will be bonded to Nyxaris, but Medra won't be??? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS WHELP. OMG AND HOW CAN I EVEN FORGET BLAKE???? AND KAGE?????? They are freaking shifters??? I mean we saw it coming let's be for real, but still what the actual??? The ending of this book is actually so nerve-wrecking and left me with so many questions and I literally cannot wait for the third book (hopefully in march). Am very excited to see what will happen next!!!

Oh my goodness, the emotional turmoil of this book! I absolutely loved reading and experiencing all the feels, Medra and Florence are my favourite duo, I was surprised by Blake’s discovery late in the book, but I sort of guessed the other secret. That ending had me crying and now I really really need the next book please and thank you! 2nd read: Greatly enjoyed the audio narration, I love the addition of a narrator for Florence!! 3rd read: Reading this again after knowing how book 3 goes down really makes this book hit different 😭 I still love everything in it though

Wow, the world-building in The Bond That Burns continues to grow richer and more complex, especially with the intricate dynamics between dragons, highbloods, and dragon riders. While I enjoyed the story, I really wanted more of Blake, and I was relieved that his bullying didn’t drag on for too long. However, some of the decisions both Blake and Medra make weren’t exactly what I hoped for. Still, the political intrigue and deeper understanding of family motivations kept me hooked. Can’t wait for book 3!
