The Locked Door

Freida McFadden

4.52

This is a re-record of The Locked Door with a new narrator. The text of the recording is the same as the previously released version.

Some doors are locked for a reason . . .

While eleven-year-old Nora Davis was up in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement.

Until the day the police arrived at their front door.

Decades later, Nora's father is spending his life behind bars, and Nora is a successful surgeon with a quiet, solitary existence. Nobody knows her father was a notorious serial killer. And she intends to keep it that way.

Then Nora discovers one of her young female patients has been murdered. In the same unique and horrific manner that her father used to kill his victims.

Somebody knows who Nora is. Somebody wants her to take the fall for this unthinkable crime. But she's not a killer like her father. The police can't pin anything on her.

As long as they don't look in her basement.

This was my first thriller and I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like it but the premise sounded so interesting I had to start it immediately after I read it. The daughter of a serial killer and dead bodies start turning up around her? Not going to lie I was rooting for her to also be a serial killer for most of the book 👀👀 maybe I’m just crazy. I wasn’t upset with how the story turned out though. I was immediately sucked in and didn’t want to put it down. I will definitely be checking out more of her books and more of the genre in general this year.

I really enjoyed this book! I was beginning to feel like all these books were the same but this one really threw me for a loop, and while I thought I’d figured it out, the ending absolutely baffled me! I loved the addition of the cat, she really earned her keep!
