3.75 ⭐ rounded up! This was fun, messy, and compelling enough that I’m definitely continuing the series. Mera is sharp and resilient in a way I really enjoyed and I loved her ability to completely stand up for herself when men were being super cringe! The larger mythology unfolding in the background is genuinely interesting. Shadow? Intriguing and kinda a dick. Inky? Pretty cool. Angel? Absolutely love her! Pack drama? Meh, fuck them! This book clearly knows it’s setting up something bigger and I’m interested in seeing where it goes. That said, the humor was hit or miss for me. Some of the puns and fourth wall breaks pulled me out of the story more than they pulled me in tbh. I read it quickly and I cared about what was happening, but the ending absolutely ensured I’ll be picking up the next book. Overall, not perfect, but intriguing, bingeable, and promising. On to book 2! Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing the eARC!
