I’m still obsessed, I love Willa and Cade is alright too, but he’s no Rhett. He does have a beautiful personality, but he didn’t worship Willa the way that Rhett worshipped Summer. Luke is the star of this book, his character is honestly just the best, he’s innocent, cute, and hilarious. I loved the way Willa was with him, I just didn’t expect to like her as much as I did, but the way she treats Luke is everything 🥹

“Life lesson, shithead. Careful who you pick a fight with. Someone insane might love them.” ~ I went back and forth on the rating of this book because although I enjoyed it, it was very similar to Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage. While I’m not one to shy away from reading books with similar plots and tropes if it’s something I liked I think I read these books too close together because everytime something would happen I just kept comparing them. The similarities were endless aside from the fact that they are both books about a grumpy single dad and a wild friend of the family he can’t stay away from and isn’t sure he can trust with his kid. But I love the small town / family dynamics in this series and I did absolutely devour this book. I laughed, I cried and I had a good time. What more can I ask for. I absolutely adored Willa and Cade but Luke truly stole the show, this book had my heart breaking for that little boy. This series truly lets the characters shine because everything about Willa and Cades relationship felt so different from Summer and Rhett. I loved getting to see them again and the dad in this story was so funny he had me drying. The humour is really something else in this series. Also I was worried about winter getting her own book after meeting her in book 1 but the little glimpse of her we got in this was enough to have me feeling sorry for her and knowing she deserves better. 🌶️3/5 while the spice was good and there was good tension, there was nothing that particularly stood out to me.
