Weowwwww. I didn't know what I was getting into with this, but I fear I'm intrigued. Because I read this first and not The Awakening, I don't really know what's going on, but I feel like once I start reading the actual series I'll understand more. I do have to say I was decently intrigued by this. I honestly couldn't put this down and read it in one sitting. I did listen to the audio for this and I didn't really like Darius's narrator, but it was still listenable. Anyways, very intrigued about the rest of the series and I give it 3/5 stars.

This was so sad seeing how everything started and watching lance loose everything that was important to him in one go. Being forced to be guardian bonded to Darius and give up all of his put all dreams when that’s all he wanted for himself and then loosing the most important person to him, his sister all in one night broke my heart for him. Lance Orion you deserve the entire world. I read this after I finished the series because I wasn’t ready to go back and see the guys pov yet but it can be read at anytime.

It was very interesting to see things from the heir’s perspective prior to the events of book 1 and this really set things up for the rest of the series Also the narrator for Darius had me creasing, such a deep voice even though Darius is supposed to be like 14 in this 😂
