I absolutely adored reading about Jonas and Skadi! I was intrigued how it was going to go with Jonas being marketed as a notorious womaniser in books 1&2 but this was super well done, I really like how LJ handled the transition from playboy to married man and seeing how Skadi slowly thaws towards him! I am desperate to read the next book!

4.75 ⭐ rounded up. I devoured this every chance I could get through the Christmas holiday chaos! I honestly could have finished this in 1 sitting. It was that "just one more chapter" addictive energy. The worldbuilding is amazing as always and I loved getting to dive deeper into Natthaven lore. The isle absolutely feels alive with its moodiness and secrets! even three books into the series, the magic system is still fascinating and I loved the development we got with some major characters here. Speaking of characters, they are the stars of the show in this series! Especially with how morally grey most of them are in this book! They feel so real with all their flaws and quirks, even the ones you're meant to hate. The chemistry between Skadi and Jonas is so good and full of tension and yearning ! I love them both so much! The plot is steady and mostly predictable, but honestly, that didn’t bother me with how much else was going on and how invested I was in the characters. If you love immersive worlds and morally complex characters then it's definitely worth it to continue with the series imo.
