Three rival mages race for power, vengeance, and the fate of Atherin in the epic second installment of the Silvercloak Saga, from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Our Infinite Fates. The stunning first edition hardcover features red sprayed edges, a designed case stamp, and full-color endpaper maps—while supplies last! Revenge drove Saffron Killoran to go undercover in the Bloodmoon gang.

But now, with any chance of retribution gone, she sees only one path forward: harnessing a long-dormant power to fix her ruinous mistakes. Meanwhile, the new kingpin of the Bloodmoons has discovered Saffron’s true identity as a Silvercloak—and her ultimate goal of bringing his empire down. As old wounds resurface and fresh enemies close in, he finds himself torn between the cause to which he has devoted his life and the fate of the traitorous mage he loves.

Hot on their heels is an ambitious rookie detective sent to stake out the Bloodmoons’ growing rivals. She will stop at nothing to destroy both gangs—and anything or anyone who dares to stand in her way. Caught in a cat-and-mouse game of trust and betrayal spanning continents, Saffron must choose where her loyalties lie—and determine if her quest to unmake time itself is worth becoming a villain to the whole world.

I finished Turncloak last night and I don’t think I’ll ever be okay again after that ending. I just sat there in silence for a solid 30 minutes because I was so emotionally damaged and winded by everything that unfolded in the last 40%. Throughout silvercloak and Turncloak, Laura does an amazing job of dropping subtle hints, so that when she reveals something shocking, you won’t have expected it, but it will make perfect sense. There’s always a lead up to the unexpected, the twists always make sense, there could be something that completely shocks you, but it always fits. Even if I did guess that something might happen, I could never have imagined how these things would unfold, i was still stunned by how they were executed. There were also a million things I didn’t expect at all, I don’t think I’ve ever gasped so many times at 1 book. The characters are perfect, they’re flawed and I found myself relating to so many of them. Levan might be ‘evil’ but he’s also so bloody loveable and broken. Everything about this book is perfect, but that ending was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Honestly the best ending to any book I’ve ever read, it was complex, there were a million layers, a million more emotions, and nothing will ever beat it. 10/10 would do it again, even if it did almost kill me
