I had an acquaintance tell me they had read this, they told me it read like a Wattpad fanfiction and that it just further damaged the stereotypes surrounding human trafficking. I still went forward and read. I hate to say that they were right. This feels very much like some fandom fanfiction I would have read when I was 13, the language doesn't feel entirely adult; some scenes felt like they were leaning more towards older YA romance (16-18 y/o). And the repetition....like we get it, her hair is similar in color to cinnamon; had so many different descriptions of color to use and all we get is cinnamon. And the emphasis on Zade's heterochromia.....like these details kept getting brought up and it just drove me insane. Three stars though for the smut. Good smut, good storyline, could've had some more aged writing.

Hmmm if you enjoyed this, you probably need therapy - but no judgement here I did enjoy it in a weird like “wtf did he just do” kinda way… that gun scene… oof... wtf did I just read? And why am I still reading… lol A friend recommended this to me and I gotta say it is pretty “girls worst nightmare meets this could be a kink Im maybe into...” This left me questioning my sanity a bit, so so many trigger warnings, you've been warned. Also note - the ONLY person with ANY sense in this is probably the FMCs best friend.
