Grimstone
Remi Hayes is beginning to think she's cursed-her fiancé cheated on her, her brother Jude is a major pain in her ass, and the moldering mansion she inherited from her uncle might just be haunted. Flipping Blackleaf Manor already feels impossible, even before Remi is blackmailed by Dane Covett, the dangerously hot doctor-next-door, and Grimstone's most eligible bachelor-if you can ignore the fact that everyone in town thinks he murdered his wife. Remi doesn't want to believe it, especially after Dane sews up a gash in her thigh and steals a kiss in payment-a kiss that makes it hard to walk for reasons that have nothing to do with an injured leg.
But as the renovation takes a strange and violent turn, Remi must decide if Dane is the one haunting her nights, or if he's trying to protect her from something much worse... Lark Notes: Halloween is my favorite! I get such a thrill out of writing a spooky, dark book at this time of year.
Remi and Dane are two deeply damaged people with skeletons in their closets. It's only when they meet each other that they finally find the connection and acceptance that allows them to move on from their dark pasts. I fell in love with the gothic beach town of Grimstone, and will be writing a dark romance set there each autumn. - Sophie "Grimstone" is a deeply dark contemporary romance and a complete standalone.
Reader beware: it has extremely spicy scenes and triggering content not suitable for all.

I enjoyed this lil dark story. Theres pics throughout that are drawings of the characters, not sure how i feel about that. Im very mentally visual and probably would of preferred not to have them bc it was very distracting and contradicted some of the written descriptions… like the MFCs boobs were always described tiny, literally a mouth full and thats it, small enough to not need a bra - and her body/attire even called “androgynous”, but the drawings showed her boobs as huge… and her wearing very form fitting “barely there” clothing, instead of the “boyish” attire that was described as her style Maybe I’m just being over analytical… also the drawings of the men were so chiseled, kinda unrealistic - theres only a few but they all had the same body type… and i get it its a “fiction” - but i expected (and imagined) a more realistic (but also hot) MMC look. The artwork was nice ngl, hot even, just didnt match the writing. 🌶️ 4/5 Theres a lot of hand play in this. Only a few actual sex scenes, but a lot of tension and sexual activity. The replay of the MFC hypno scene had me laughing so hard lol Early on, the spice came off as non consensual, and the lack of safe word was a little cringe, but overall… its got some smut. NOTES This book comes with a playlist - some of the song artists are mislabeled tho.
