Yours Truly
A novel of terrible first impressions, hilarious second chances, and the joy in finding your perfect match.
“Jimenez is a trule talent.” —Emily Henry, New York Times bestselling author of Funny Story and People We Meet on Vacation
Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game ... by sending Briana a letter.
And it’s a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan. Worse, he might be this fantastically funny and subversively likeable guy who’s terrible at first impressions. Because suddenly he and Bri are exchanging letters, sharing lunch dates in her “sob closet,” and discussing the merits of freakishly tiny horses. But when Jacob decides to give Briana the best gift imaginable—a kidney for her brother—she wonders just how she can resist this quietly sexy new doctor ... especially when he calls in a favor she can’t refuse.

There’s so many different types of anxiety that people can experience. I liked how deep the inner monologues went with these two - mainly the MMC. He was all over the place over analyzing, and over thinking every little detail, it was so accurate how a lot of introverted people with anxiety feel and react internally to certain situations. It was cute how they fit and the FMC just “knew” how to make life easier for him, while also dealing with her own trauma and trust issues. This was SO funny, I love this authors sense of humor and would definitely read more of her stuff. 🌶️ 2/5 - This wasnt as spicy as the other books in this series, not that they are very spicy either, but I think this was meant to be more the “lead up” to spice for these two. It was cute and tense, like the lingering hover before a first kiss.

a solid romance. the mmc reminded me of my partner so there were parts that I really ate. I also may or may not have cried at certain points. and I stayed up until 3 a.m. reading it. I can't really explain why it didn't get five stars, though; something about it just fell the slightest bit flat. (could have been the reading slump, could have been the surprise pregnancy trope, who knows?)
