Stuck with You
From the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis comes a new steamy, STEMinist novella…
Nothing like a little rivalry between scientists to take love to the next level.
Mara, Sadie, and Hannah are friends first, scientists always. Though their fields of study might take them to different corners of the world, they can all agree on this universal truth: when it comes to love and science, opposites attract and rivals make you burn…
Logically, Sadie knows that civil engineers are supposed to build bridges. However, as a woman of STEM she also understands that variables can change, and when you are stuck for hours in a tiny New York elevator with the man who broke your heart, you earn the right to burn that brawny, blond bridge to the ground. Erik can apologize all he wants, but to quote her rebel leader—she’d just as soon kiss a Wookiee.
Not even the most sophisticated of Sadie’s superstitious rituals could have predicted such a disastrous reunion. But while she refuses to acknowledge the siren call of Erik’s steely forearms or the way his voice softens when he offers her his sweater, Sadie can’t help but wonder if there might be more layers to her cold-hearted nemesis than meet the eye. Maybe, possibly, even burned bridges can still be crossed….

4/5 ⭐️ 4/5 🌶️ 📖 My Thoughts Seriously enjoyed this one more than the first one so much so that I need more from these characters! At first, I didn’t realize this FMC is friends with the FMC in the first book so that was a fun surprise. I really enjoyed how Ali laid out the timeline for this short read. I listened to this on audio as well and really enjoyed the narrators sultry, raspy voice. Always highly recommend audios for a more immersive experience. ⚠️ Trigger Warnings Graphic: Confinement and Sexual content Moderate: Cursing, Panic attacks/disorders, and Sexism Minor: Misogyny and Vomit 🌶️ Spice The MMC in this one was chef’s kiss. So broody and mysterious just how I like them, and also, ACCENT. We get a little more spice in this one, two scenes in total and both were delicious. I loved how the FMC struggles with anxiety but took control a couple of times and that the MMC gave her that control to make her feel more at ease. So lovely.

Okay this was somehow even cuter than the last one. The dynamic between these characters was so much fun and I honestly loved the back and forth between present day and a couple of weeks ago. I love that it was only a couple of weeks since things when down because I hate huge periods of lost time. The mmc was so unbelievably gentle with the fmc and it made me swoon.

This was ok, so much miscommunication going on. That is basically the whole plot. It was a short read, but unlike some of Alis other books I didn't find my self ripping through pages to finish it quickly. Also I am not a fan of sports talk, so when they start getting into the "football" conversations I kind of check out mentally. 🌶️ 4/5 Pretty spicy. Typical Ali formula, giant fancy dude meets smart tiny (and awkward) woman, they fall in mutual pining love then break up, only to reconnect again. The smut was good though, fumbled here and there at times, but worked.

Sadie and Erik met a few weeks ago and had a wonderful time together. Then, they get stuck in an elevator for a few hours after Sadie gets heartbroken. They rehash what happened and turns out it was pretty much a miscommunication. This was a cute short story and I really enjoyed it.
