A Soul to Keep
All Reia ever wanted was freedom. Known as a harbinger of bad omens and blamed for Demons eating her family, Reia is shunned by her entire village. Each decade, in exchange for a protection ward from the Demons that terrorise the world, Orpheus takes a human offering to the Veil - the place he lives and the home of Demons. The brief companionship does little to ease his loneliness, and their lives were always, unfortunately, cut short. He'd thought it was a hopeless endeavour, until he met her.
She's not afraid of him, and his insatiable desire deepens within every moment of her presence. But will Orpheus be able to convince Reia to stay before she's lost to him forever?

4/5 ⭐ 5/5 🌶️ 💘 Tropes - Mutual pining - Found family - Forced proximity - No 3rd-act breakup - Forbidden love 📖 My Thoughts This was a really fun and naughty read 😈 The pacing of smut and plot was pretty well done to be honest. The cozy cottage vibes were on point and Orpheus is the sweetest duskie boy. I fell in love with Orpheus and Reia's relationship immediately. I loved that they weren't constantly fighting or intercommunicating. They both just wanted someone to love and share a cozy life with. ⚠️ Triggers Graphic: Confinement, Sexual content, Violence, Blood, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail Moderate: Death, Kidnapping, Grief, Stalking, and Death of parent Minor: Cannibalism and Pregnancy 🌶️ Spice New kink unlocked with my first monster lover book. The spice in this was a level 5 for me as it was so detailed and HAWT. As much spice as there was though, it wasn't happening constantly. The amount of plot and spice was nicely balanced which I really enjoy if I'm going to read spicy books.

This was good, a little slow and predictable at times, but I enjoyed it. I loved how cute and sweet the MMC was, the FMC was a little annoying sometimes, but overall they worked well together, had a good build up of chemistry and it was a fun read. I think my favorite character was the Witch Owl and would love to read her story. 🌶️ 5/5 Super spicy monster smut. Very well written, a little repetitive at times, but I loved the descriptions and naughtiness 😈 if it doesn't fit, magic will make it.
