2/5⭐ 1/5🌶️ 📖 My Thoughts This really wasn't what I was expecting, but I guess I should have considering the summary? I'm not sure I loved the massive time jumps, little changing in the plot, and the mix of fantasy and real-world events. The story moved very slowly, spanning over 7-8ish centuries and unless you account for the real-world events, the plot was pretty basic. I can't say I was very impressed with the main characters either, as they were both quite passive. The writing itself was lovely but the characters and plot lacked depth in my opinion. ⚠️ Triggers Moderate: Death, Racism, Sexual content, Slavery, Violence, Blood, Pregnancy, Alcohol, and Pandemic/Epidemic Minor: Genocide, Rape, and Fire/Fire injury 🌶️ Spice There were a couple of vague spicy scenes, but I didn't feel the chemistry between the characters enough to get into it.
