Okay so I thought the book was absolutely amazing. There really wasn’t much plot, but the smut was very, very well written. I’m pretty excited for the second one, and excited for where the story goes! 5/5 stars, and I’d probably read it again.

I was leery going into this book, since it was my first alien romance, but I have to say I am here for the blue-horned aliens. The author did an excellent job at world building. This was a corny but cute story. Loved Vektal he was so all about his mate, her needs and wants over his, it was so adorably sweet. Vektal is so heart-meltingly lovable. He wants her so badly it makes you ache for him. He has longed for a mate for so long, he views her arrival and being the one he resonates for as a miracle. Vektal can't bear the thought of losing Georgie. It is hilarious when she finds out she could get pregnant by him(and might very well be), and he has no idea why she is upset. I trace my fingers down her soft cheek. Does she not realize? Anywhere she goes, I will gladly follow. She is my heart, my resonance, my soul. My mate. It grieves me she is so miserable here, with me. ““This is my mate. I resonate for her.” As if on cue, his chest starts to vibrate, the thick, steady purr jiggling my cheek. “She is beautiful to me. Different, but beautiful nevertheless.” He brushes his fingers through my hair. “I have seen her bravery, her spirit, and her will. She has trusted me when she has no reason to. She has given me her body when she has no khui to compel her. And it does not matter what any eyes think of her but mine . . . and to me, she is the most wonderful, most attractive, and most compelling of creatures.” “Georgie will take a khui soon,” I tell them. She must. I cannot bear the thought of her declining it and leaving me to go back to her strange planet. The thought stabs me like a knife, and I fight back the agony it brings. “When she feels the khui within her resonate, she will know what it means to be mated. Until then, I court her with caresses and affection. Just because she does not resonate for me does not mean I shall treat her any differently.” It’s easy to stay mad at a guy like that. It’s really, really hard to stay mad at a guy who acts like you’re the best thing since sliced bread, pampers you at every turn, and acts like the baby you’re carrying in your belly is the only thing he’s ever wanted in his life. Especially hard to stay mad as he and nine of his strongest hunters trek through thick snowdrifts in the bitter cold, carrying supplies for what they think are five more human women (and are actually eleven).

⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 📖 My Thoughts This was an interesting read to shake things up a bit. If you plan on reading this, definitely be aware of the trigger warnings and try not to take the story too seriously. The instant love and mating threw me a little bit and there were a few moments where it was hard to suspend my disbelief. But at the same time, this a sci-fi romance and monster smut about barbaric aliens. Things get a little weird and rough at times, but the FMC's love interest is such a cinnamon roll if cinnamon rolls were big and blue. ⚠️Trigger Warnings Graphic: Rape, Sexual content, Kidnapping Moderate: Sexual assault, Pregnancy, Death Minor: Abortion 🌶️Spice The spice was really hot to be honest and probably my favorite part about the entire plot. With the language barrier and difference in species, you would think it would be awkward, but the clueless male alien was adorable and super hot. He's so infatuated with Georgie's clit that it's hilarious. Blue-Da-Ba-Dee dude can get it. 👽

I cant even attempt to take this seriously lol This was pretty cringy honestly. How is this so hyped? It’s probably just a me thing, I am not a fan of how this started, the insta-mate thing, and the floridian FMC. Despite that… I MIGHT, consider the second book in this series lol, because sometimes I like to suffer. :hot_pepper: 4/5 This is spicy, I did not find it hot, I did like that he purred and has a sandpaper tongue, that was interesting. Also the description of the alien sounds hot, but the spice was not doing it for me here. One final peeve.. I cannot stand “surprise” pregnancy trope, and from the second she was like “oh i can’t get interspecies prego” - I KNEW that was bullshit and it was coming. No thank you. Note: mind the TWs early on there are a few rapey things and forced abortion, not too graphic, but it's supposed to add shock value, I'm sure.

How did this book pull 4.5 stars out of me? IDK OKAY LMAO I couldn't find much to complain out, I flew through the book, giggled at the humor, and fell in love with the sweet doting blue alien guy. Sue me, I guess, but at least leave me alone so I can read more of this series. Ever since I fell asleep last night my brain has been screaming at me to go to book 2
