The Wedding Witch
Fall under the spell of Erin Sterling's witchy romances! The New York Times bestselling author of The Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse brightens up the Winter Solstice with another delightfully spooky novel following Bowen Penhallow and the girl he feels strangely drawn to - especially when she becomes his only hope of salvation after a strong spell sends them to a Yuletide celebration . . . more than 50 years in the past. Bowen Penhallow has always been a loner, studying dark and ancient magic on a mountaintop in Wales.
He prefers it that way, but when his friend Colin - who happens to be a ghost - asks him to attend a Yuletide wedding at a grand estate deep in the Welsh countryside, Bowen reluctantly agrees. As a procurer and seller of magical items, Tamsyn Bligh's business is not always above board, but she's been trying to fix that (mostly.) Bowen is an occasional customer - as well as the star of several of Tamsyn's dirtiest dreams - but she's been around enough witches to know that, as a human, getting involved with one is not the smartest idea. She's finagled an invite to the Witchy Wedding of the Century in the hopes of finally making a score big enough to retire.
Just one priceless magical artefact from Tywyll House would set her up for life. But Tamsyn isn't the only one sneaking about in Tywyll House, and the mix of a very strong spell combined with a wedding mishap transports Bowen and Tamsyn into Tywyll House's past, to the Yuletide Celebration of 1958. As Bowen and Tamsyn work together to get back to the present, they must also face off with the origins of Tywyll House's haunting, the suspicions of their fellow witches . . . oh, and the fact that somewhere between the mistletoe and the bonfire, they might be falling in love.

Unfortunately I didn’t love this book as much as the others. I don’t know if it’s because I waited so long to read it after the others so I wasn’t feeling attached to the world anymore or if the main characters just didn’t appeal to me as much personally. I found myself not wanting to pick this book up, while I found it hard to put the others down. The writing was still good so I think it was honestly just a personal problem. I did also miss Graves glen which was my favourite part of this series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Favorite line: ”Well, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go throw myself on the Yule log now, be right back.” 📖 My Thoughts I both listened and read this book. When I was listening to the audio during the prologue and a bit after, I was not thrilled with the email and text exchanges paired with the narrators accent. Personally, I would recommend a combination of listening and following along because while the accent is really lovely, it’s hard to understand and can possibly result in missing little details. Other than that bit, I really enjoyed this. I loved the familiar comfort and honesty the MC’s shared. The time travel aspect was not expected which actually made me enjoy the story even more. ⚠️ Trigger Warnings Graphic: Sexual content, Cursing, Grief Moderate: Death, Alcohol, Death of parent Minor: Emotional abuse, Abandonment, Bullying 🌶️ Spice There wasn’t a ton of spice but regardless I enjoyed the spontaneous scenes that we did get. The bathtub and against a tree in the woods?? fans self

I wish I had read this immediately after the first 2, when I had the momentum, but it hadn’t released yet. Despite the fact that these can be read as stand alones, I found this one slightly dull. After it came out i decided to wait until Christmas time to read, and it wasn’t bad, I just wasn’t overly attached to the characters, and the plot, I was kind of just waiting for it to be over. There were some funny moments though, I just feel like it was missing something. The last book ended with it appearing like Bowen was going to fuck up his dad… but that wasn’t even a crumb in this plot. The boys simply cut off communications from him, which was disappointing because I remember that dude sucking. 🌶️ 2/5 I know there was spice in this, I know it had hot moments, but I honestly could not tell you anything about them aside from some involved a tub… It wasn’t very memorable.

I don't know if I read this when I was too far removed from the rest of the series or what, but this one was just... kind of a flop for me. I never really cared for the characters or the romance, and I also don't care for time travel plots, so this one was a bit doomed. there really came a point when I was reading to finish, not because I was invested. when I reread the others, I'll try this one again to see if it's better when read closer to the others.
