Hermione felt the pounding in her ears again. She would see him for the first time since the Great Hall, gaunt and stricken at the Slytherin table with his mother clutching his arm. She hadn't meant to look for him. Not in the corridors, not beneath the white sheets of the fallen, not on the way to the Chamber of Secrets with Ron, but she was a stupid girl.

My first dramione fic and I am a changed woman. I honestly don’t know why it’s taken me so long to read any when I’ve always been a slytherin girly but it was so worth the wait. I’m about to absolutely devour all of the best fics and make this my entire personality. Prepare yourselves for me to be absolutely insufferable about Draco for the foreseeable future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Favorite line: “If you’re desperate,” Ginny said, turning the pages over to the picture of the three of them on the patio, “then he’s starving.” 📖 My Thoughts I ended up combining Hermione’s and Draco’s POV into a tandem and I’m glad I did. I knew personally that I wouldn’t have the motivation to move onto Draco’s POV after reading Hermione’s. After reading the entirety of both, my feelings on how to read them have been confirmed. Hermione’s POV was in 3rd person and dragged on for what seemed like forever. Honestly, it felt like a disservice to Hermione to write her in 3rd person as it makes her POV seem less powerful. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it a lot. The banter is always top tier in any Dramione and I love Hermione’s sense of right and wrong. I feel that LovesBitca8 did a great job breaking up these POVs and making them each feel different. ⚠️ Trigger Warnings Graphic: Sexual content, Alcohol, Drug use Moderate: Sexual violence, Torture, Emotional abuse Minor: Sexual assault, Slavery, War 🌶️ Spice The spice in this was really good and it was really fun to get the scenes back to back. At times, I appreciated the innocence of Hermione in her POV but I hate the toxic view that an untouched woman is better. That rubbed me the wrong way at times.

I know it’s not recommended but I tandem read this with All the Wrong Things. At first I was really into this, this was so fun seeing Hermione POV then slipping into Draco POV, but after a while it just kinda went on and on and I was so ready to be done. This was a great story, but it is not my favorite Dramione fanfic, or my fave AU depiction of her. Overall these two were way too long, and I am glad to move forward to the Auction finally, after a break. 🌶️ The spice in this took fucking foreverrrr to hit… it was really good when it did, but it’s such a slow burn i almost lost sight of what we were getting at. And they STILL miscommunicated SO much, its was a little frustrating. But - there were some hot moments for sure, and the tension with these two is always a love/hate ride I enjoy.
