This was a slow burn forbidden age gap romance. Jordan is dating Cole, and they are living together. At first, you think Cole isn't that bad of a guy, just irresponsible and immature, but then she catches him sleeping with someone else. They had been friends for years before dating, so the fact that he did this made it all the worse. His irresponsibility got them evicted from their apartment (well, she could have stayed, but couldn't afford to on her own). Cole's father, Pike, with whom he has a strained relationship, offers to let them live with him. Cole's & Jordan's relationship is strained at this point. Both she and Pike start to harbor feelings for the other. But he feels he can't act on it because he already has a shaky relationship with Cole, even though he has always tried to put Cole first in his life and has always been there for him. But Cole's mother poisoned him against Pike with her lies. This is not the type of romance I normally read, but I heard so many positive things about it, I thought I'd give it a try. It dragged at times and was much more of a story that easily could happen to someone than I like in my fiction. This was a bit too much common day realism for me.

3.5 rounded to 4. Not bad for an age gap, forced prox, forbidden rom. Quick and easy read. There were some moments I was like uhhh they are both bein brats lol but this had a fun plot - perfect for any birthday read. Cam was awesome, she needed a bigger role, but I found a lot of her scenes laugh out loud worthy. 🌶️ 3/5 Slightly slow burn, but pretty hot once spice starts spicing. The MCs had really good chemistry and the way they poke fun and tease each other was good.

This book was pretty good. I felt like it had some depth to it and showed good character development throughout the story. However, I felt like it dragged on in a few spots but overall was really good.
