Ophelia is sweet, trusting, and kind. They guys and Alexandros are helping her train so she can control her magic. Her bond with each of them grows stronger, as does their love and devotion. Xavier was struggling with his relationship with Alexandros throughout. He kept feeling unloved and less than around Alexandros. There is definitely more to the Lucian story we are led to believe. Also, I don't trust Georgio at all, and Ophelia felt something off with him when she met him, which is a huge red flag. What happened to Alexandros' family was devastating to hear. Though who killed them seems like there might be more to the story there. The story of what happened to the elementai was so sad. Thern the ending man..... devastating. Because I did not know how to tell them of a betrayal so profound that it changed the essence of my being. A pain so unfathomable and agonizing that the only way to live through it is to bury it so deeply that it can never be found. nothing compares to the feelings I have for you. Our bond is unique. Not just with me, with all of us. No one will ever take your place, agápi mou. And the sooner you realize that, the easier all our lives will be.” I respect you so much, sweet girl. Remember that”—I flip her over and hold her down by the back of her neck before driving my cock inside her with one smooth motion—“when I’m fucking you like I don’t.” This is so much more than love, Ophelia. More than a bond. More than I have ever felt. Love cannot endure a thousand lifetimes. It forgets and it fades. You and I are eternal. You have conquered my heart and stolen my soul. Do not insult what we have by calling it love. She whimpers, and I swallow the sweet sound. But love is all I’ve ever wanted. Then I will love you for eternity. I will either burn in the light or drag you into the dark, little one. And whenever Death should come for you, I will offer Him one thousand souls in return for yours so that you will remain in this mortal realm with me for the rest of time. “I did save your life, sweet Ophelia. I knew from the moment you were born that you were special. Many will try to use your power for their own ends, but do not let them, my child. Always trust your light.” “Ophelia is always in danger, Malachi. That is the reality of the burden we all share now.” “She’s not a burden.” His warm breath mingles with mine. “No, she is not. She is the reason that our hearts beat.” My son or not … I would end him and every other soul in existence to protect her. “You never have to hide any part of yourself from me. I love all of you. Your darkness, your shadows, your light. Everything that makes you uniquely you. I feel like I have loved you since the beginning of time.” And then I see all my boys, and I am crushed with regret that I was never the father they needed me to be.
