*❝Have I finally figured out how to get you to shut up?” he said. “Just gotta tell you that I’m madly in love with you, and I’ll get a little peace?❞* ❥ My thoughts Damn, it's rare but entirely possible that a series gets better with each book. Each return to Meadowlark and its cast of characters makes me giddy with excitement, clutching for my heart, and blinking back tears. Lyla has connected these characters and their stories in a way that feels so real and keeps me wanting more long after it's over. August and Theodora, or Teddy and Gussy are probably my fave couple thus far because there is so much more than meets the eye with both of them. Gus is an uptight grump who needs someone to tell him when to take it easy. Teddy is a loud, proud, confident gal who needs a quiet place to lay her head and her heart. I loved the evolution of their relationship, going from flat-out annoyance with one another to sweet curiosity to there-is-no-denying-it love. Not to mention, the tear-jerking and true-to-life moments with both Meadowlarks top dads, Amos and Hank, who literally have my heart. Highly recommend this series if you want a book that feels like a hug on a hard day, you may cry but you'll also fall in love. ❥ Trigger warnings Graphic: Sexual content, Cursing, Medical content Moderate: Death of parent, Chronic illness, Alcohol Minor: Abandonment, Pregnancy, Sexual harassment [Follow my Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/inkstainedemotions?igsh=aTh6eTZ6dGwxMXpy&utm_source=qr)

Honestly could not tell you the plot of the first 2 books of these in this series I read, but this one… omg Teddy and Gus, be still my heart! I loved the grumpy single dad and creative sunshine gal who bonded thru his daughter, this may be my new fav trope… not that I normally care about tropes but this was so well done. The narrators in this are some of my favorites, loved this combo of dual narration. 🌶️ 4/5 Top tier spice in this one, the build up, sexy cowgirl vibes and inner monologues working up to the smutty moments… ugh swoon… such a good time, chefs kiss. *“This was the scary thing about want—the fact that it wasn’t a guarantee. It was a wish, and wishes were made of air—at best.”* 📚 Reading Between the Vines: 📚 Click Here to Join a Fun Discord Book Club

Teddy is Emmy's best friend. She has always been the fun-loving, go-with-the-flow girl, but recently has been feeling like everything is changing, and she doesn't know how to handle it. Gus is Emmy's brother. He is normally the dependable one who does everything on his own. However, he is now struggling to do everything and take care of his daughter full-time for the summer. When he finally decides to get help taking care of his daughter, Teddy is the last person he thought of. Teddy steps in to help and decides to use the summer to figure out her life while doing so. They butt heads a lot during this time, but eventually get to know each other and soon care about each other. I really enjoyed this story! Teddy is such a great character. I loved that she was always herself, and while she was having a bit of a life crisis, she never let that keep her down. I loved the chemistry and tension between Teddy and Gus. All the back and forth with them was just great. I also loved to see the relationship between Teddy and Riley grow.
