3.5 ⭐rounded up I went into this with lots of hope after the strong setup in book 1. In many ways, this delivers what it says: more vampires, more stakes, and more tension. Arthie remains as clever and resourceful as ever and I really enjoyed getting to explore more of the world with a visit to Arthie's home country with her found family. The character development for the rest of the crew was also a highlight and added some great emotional depth. That said, I was able to predict a few twists before they happened and the ending felt a bit lacking in the resolution. Overall, it was a fun read and I would recommend picking it up if you liked book 1 but keep in mind that it might test your patience a bit. Thanks to MacMillian Audio for the gifted audiobook!
