Two friends battle feelings for each other as they work together to renovate a school bus into a home in this charming romance novel from the viral TikTok author of Next of Kin and Out on a Limb.

“Warm, sexy, and vulnerable . . . Hannah Bonam-Young needs to be on your romance radar.”—Hannah Grace, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Icebreaker

Lane is in the middle of an identity crisis. Her friends are all partnered up, her career is heading nowhere, and simply put, she’s not happy. So, after a night out celebrating her birthday, she makes one hell of an impulsive purchase: a giant yellow forty-eight-passenger school bus that she intends to make her home.

With little-to-no renovation experience but a large sum of inheritance money, Lane enlists the help of her friend Matt—a mechanic by trade, handyman by practice, and hottie by nature.

While their mutual attraction is undeniable, Matt and Lane have silently agreed that a friendship is the only thing that can ever exist between them. Matt’s a total family guy with “settle down with me” tattooed across his forehead, whereas Lane is entirely commitment averse. It could never work . . . right?

“Sometimes it feels like everyone else has a script, and I’m doing improv.” ~ This book fully destroyed me at times. It has me full on sobbing at work. It hit so close to home with the anxiety issues and the death of her dad. I truly felt her pain like it was my own. A dead dad in a story will never fail to hit close to home and stab me right in the heart and this book was a truly the perfect storm. I loved both Lane and Matt so much. THE WAY MATT LOVED HER AND WAITED FOR HER. He loved her so hard, Matt is truly what dreams are made of. I know Lane made some mistakes but I love her with all of my heart and she truly deserves the world. I loved watching her heal. 3/5 🌶️

This started out fun enough, normal girl hyper obsesses over the van life on the social media trend and decides to spend like 30k of her inheritance on a giant bus to renovate with a dude who co-owns a mechanic shop with an MC from the previous book. The plot and story was ok, as it went on I was just losing interest. I struggled with the narrator, and felt a lot of this story was fairly predictable and really slow for what i was in the mood for. 🌶️ 3/5 – Dude wants more, girl doesnt want more than sexy stuff… A lot of little things I kinda got ick from in this, and again the narrator and MMC name just didnt do it for me. This does have a fair amount of spice though, more than the last book, I will say that. 📚 Reading Between the Vines: 📚 Click Here to Join a Fun Discord Book Club

A cute read! Matt and Lane were an interesting friends-to-lovers read for me. I obviously loved Matt being a forever yearner, and appreciated that they had that friendship. I think the flaws of the characters were realistically done, with Lane's grief and Matt's tendency to put others first. I didn't leave the book with a lot to say, but sometimes that's a good thing.
