Zayden

I thought I had everything I could possibly desire. Until I set my eyes on her. My angel. Too pure for this world, too pure for me. She’s all mine. No matter the cost. No matter the lives that stand in my way. She has always been mine. She just doesn’t know it yet.

Dominic

My brother has lost it, more so than ever before. I couldn’t figure out what had changed at first. One look at her though, and it all made sense. He gave me one job, protect his girl, a girl he’s never even spoken to. I held true to my promise and then some. I didn’t mean to kiss her, to touch her. One thing is for sure, though. I’m not losing her, even if I have to go through my brother to have her.

2.75 ⭐ The book started off with a lot of potential & I loved the brothers, especially Zayden. But halfway through, it felt like there was just filler for a while, and the buildup of the suspenseful plot line fell flat. The ending felt rushed, and the emotions you would expect to be elicited from it did not come. I enjoyed the 1st half of the book, and I liked the brothers a lot. I could feel the connection & love from the brothers for Blake, but not as much from Blake towards them, the lust, yes. The smut was good. Zayden starts off super obsessed and stalks Blake, I can buy into that easily since Zayden is batshit crazy and is at death's door when he catches a glimpse of Blake, and he likens her to a beautiful angel. Dominic, on the other hand one look at her and he is obsessed, doesn't play that well. The only thing I can think of is that it is because he knows Zayden is obsessed with her. When Zayden asks Dominic to look after & protect Blake while he is away, and Dom doesn't answer his attempts at communication after a while, Zayden gets desperate and reaches out to the one person he shouldn't for help, which puts them all in danger. Dominic is just as much at fault for leaving his brother high and dry for months. Maxim's involvement with other characters in the book seems implausible and way too much of a stretch to even suspend believability. The whole ending plot line with Maxim was disappointing. I had to go back to reread the part when it was Zayden having sex with Blake for the first time. I didn't realize it was till Dominic was acting weird about the whole no condom thing the night before, then I saw how he called her "angel" when they were finished. I was like oh damn, well played since we didn't know at the time he got out of jail At the end, it was beyond absurd, when they didn't know they were having twins yet had all the tests to see who the father was and must have had an ultrasound as well, since they knew they were having a boy, come on. She’s not ready to meet officially just yet. I need more time with her first. You deserve far more than I could ever possibly give you, but I’m going to try to be worthy, always.” My psycho brother I can deal with, my psycho brother with knives, not as easily. Dominic fucked up. If he wanted me to stay away from my angel, he should have just killed me, because that’s what it would take to keep me from her. Then again, death might not be enough. I want to tell them how much I love them. How I don’t want them to worry about me. How they made my shit life worth living, no matter how short our time was together. I want to tell them how I’m so thankful that they tried, how lucky I feel to have their love
