I loved this book! I love Alice and Charlie and their friendship, the flirting, the waiting, the teasing, it was all so good! I also love the setting as a Canadian, nothing is better than being up at a cottage in the summer. The small town vibes were great. I love a book that is serious but has a perfect amount of comedy and this one definitely checks that box. Charlie is funny and they both had some great jokes. It shows so many different family and friend relationships too, not always easy either. I love Nan, she is iconic. Alice learns a lot about herself and what she needs, it was nice to see her working through this, building confidence and learning that it is okay to put her own needs first. And that asking for help is okay, and that people will show up for you. It was sad, but cute.
