EDIT: Still loved this. I loved it even more this time. 5/5 stars and it actually gets a Hall of Fame Shelf spot. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wow. I finished this in the wee hours of this morning but forgot to write the review until now. Oopsies. Anyway, I really loved this book. It had me questioning various things about myself that I still don't have the answers too. I really loved Aly and Josh. He was giving Josh vibes from Until Dawn and honestly I kinda love that 🤭. This is the only dark romance I've read this year but it's definitely my favorite. Overall, I really loved this, and I give it 5/5 stars!

Sigh..... Wow just wow, this is one of the best books I had the pleasure of listening to (or reading) in a very long time. To say I loved this book is an understatement. The MMC Josh was perfect, he is everything I never knew I wanted in a MMC. His sweetness, humor, insecurity, sexiness and protectiveness mixed with a very mild dark side is beyond swoon-worthy. Ally is one lucky FMC, they are a fantastic couple and compliment each other so well. I smiled so much and even laughed at times while listening to this book. I even waited a few days before finishing the last two hours because I didn't want it to end. I need more books like this in my life. I did find that the 1st half of the book seemed to have a different vibe than the 2nd, but that didn't bother me too much; I was here for it all. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook. Jacob Morgan narrating Josh was incredible, the Batman and the modulated voice, I don't even know what to say..... He did a phenomenal job portraying Josh's character throughout his narration.

This book was just as good as everyone says it is. The spice was top tier and it was so funny it had me laughing out loud multiple times. The audio was especially good with all the voice sound effects. Highly recommend. I need more dark romance comedy like this it was the perfect read. Filled with adorable cat content and everything.

3/5 ⭐ 5/5 🌶️ 💘 Tropes - Found family - Witty banter - No third-act breakup 📖 My Thoughts Light's Out was a fun read but I wasn't as into it as I thought I would be. The humor and playfulness between the characters was enjoyable, but the overall tone of the book threw me off a bit. Stalker romances are hot and who doesn't love a good romcom? But the way the author put these two genres together didn't work for me. Stalker romances for me, personally, need to be a bit darker and lightheartedness with a heavy theme can be hard to get right. While it makes sense that you would internally go and back forth on the ethics of stalking, Aly and Josh both did it way too much. After awhile, it became monotonous and less sexy. The length of this book also wasn't necessary. Overall, I didn't hate it but I was kind of ready to be done. Do I see why people enjoy it? Absolutely, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. ⚠️ Triggers Graphic: Drug use, Blood, Medical trauma, Stalking, Car accident, Death of parent, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail Minor: Child abuse, Rape, Sexism, Sexual assault, Mass/school shootings, Cannibalism, Stalking, Car accident, Death of parent, and Murder 🌶️ Spice That last chapter though! The epilogue sex scene was my favorite out of all the others. We honestly didn't get as many as I thought we would. And I'll go ahead and say it; the first time Aly and Josh have intercourse was a little bland to be honest. In the shower?? I was expecting more.

Duuuude… if he wanted to he would! This was sooooo friggin' good. I audibly laughed (many times), kicked my feet, and was so into this banter. SLAY. I read somewhere some people were comparing this to Butcher and Blackbird, or Haunting Adeline... No... This book stands on its own in the dark romance sector. These characters had depth with their traumas and had a realistic vantage point of how people process some of these things, like hiding away from people, or overworking as a distraction, and the way we consume shit on the internet for pleasure or to escape is a horror all on its own. Not that this was a horror story, it was an absolute gem of a dark romance romcom that will forever live rent free in my own twisted traumatized mind. Also theres Fred. I just love an adorkable animal sidekick. 🐈⬛ 🌶️ 5/5 - Ok... can we talk about spice, fuck... New kinks unlocked, and old ones leveled the fuck up. I not going to spoil this by saying too much, it's TOO good - go in blind, and if you are able to, I highly recommend the audio/reading combo. I think my only gripe with the dirty talk was the "mommy/daddy" lingo, it wasn't too bad in this as it was in reference to Fred, and we love Fred, but its something that gives me the ick. I'm going to look past it this once - for Fred.
