Storm and Fury
From Jennifer L. Armentrout, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Primal of Blood and Bone, comes the beginning of a heartstopping romantic fantasy series about angels, demons and gargoyles where a girl with an explosive secret hiding place has just been discovered…
Eighteen-year-old Trinity Marrow may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her gift is the reason she’s been in hiding for years in a compound guarded by Wardens—shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they’ll devour her to enhance their powers.
When Wardens from another clan arrive with reports that something is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity’s world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she’s ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own—but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity’s secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she’ll have to trust Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed…

Such an easy read, definitely recommend reading. I’m usually intimidated by a series so split it up and read between other books, but I’ve instantly picked up book 2. It’s quite crazy that it’s such an easy read, because the magic and world building are both things I’ve never came across in previous books? Also, we got a hot gargoyle mmc, and it seems I’m a sucker for that🫡

A girl going blind and the secrets she keeps meets a boy, let the teenage angsty lust commence. I really enjoyed the plot, the twist at the end I didn't see coming at all... The characters were fun and I loved how the relationship between Trinity and Zayne developed. It was a slow burn but worth it. I related to Trinity's insecurities and thought processes a lot and I thought she was a sweet but kick ass MC. Peanut has to be my favourite character though. I have a lot of thoughts about how he's going to influence the next book. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was excellent. A lot of emotion without being overtop. A series I will definitely be continuing and an author I will look out for in the future.
