Paladin's Grace
Stephen's god died on the longest day of the year…
Three years later, Stephen is a broken paladin, living only for the chance to be useful before he dies. But all that changes when he encounters a fugitive named Grace in an alley and witnesses an assassination attempt gone wrong. Now the pair must navigate a web of treachery, beset on all sides by spies and poisoners, while a cryptic killer stalks one step behind…
From the Hugo and Nebula Award winning author of Swordheart and The Twisted Ones comes a saga of murder, magic, and love on the far side of despair.

*“Relief feels like happiness, if you don’t know the difference.”* What I loved: ✿ d&d type setting & characters ✿ cozy, predictable mystery ✿ older mc’s romance This is actually the first T. Kingfisher book that has received higher than 3 stars from me. The tone for this book felt more spot on than other books of hers that I’ve read. I enjoyed the setting, romance, and the predictable mystery. Some of the mystery wasn’t followed as much as I wanted but it seems like it will be continued in the other books in this series even though it’s about different characters. Highly recommend this if you want a cozy mystery or a gentle, sweet romance between two lonely, adult mc’s. Trigger warnings: Sexual content, Violence, Murder, Emotional abuse, Infidelity, Toxic relationship, Gaslighting, Domestic abuse, War [✿ Connect with me on instagram ✿](https://www.instagram.com/literarily_laurynn?igsh=aTh6eTZ6dGwxMXpy&utm_source=qr)

This was hilarious, sorta gruesome, a bit spicy, and overall an amazing vibe!! I can't wait for book 2!

From being the most cinnamon roll protagonists, to being so funny with one another when finding themselves in this new era of their lives, Stephen and Grace are what make this book a must read! Watching them both heal and learn they are not broken like they may think, leaves me wishing I could hug them both and possibly get a pair of knitted socks from Stephen. The plot was fun and interesting, with life added in through side characters like Marguerite and Bishop Beartongue. The only part holding me back from giving this book 5 stars is I did get a little lost when it came to the temples and some of the plot, though this is mostly reader error as I tend to get confused detailed worlds and do not normally read them.

wow. well-plotted with a great balance between fantasy and romance elements. Stephen was a total sweetheart and his relationship with Grace could not have been written better. so excited to continue the series!
