THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • NOW THE PRIME ORIGINAL SERIES EVERY YEAR AFTER

"A radiant debut."—Emily Henry, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Great Big Beautiful Life

Six summers to fall in love. One moment to fall apart. A weekend to get it right.

They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of glittering summers on the lakeshore of her childhood, she spends them in a stylish apartment in the city, going out with friends, and keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart.

Until she receives the call that sends her racing back to Barry’s Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek—the man she never thought she’d have to live without.

For six summers, through hazy afternoons on the water and warm summer nights working in his family’s restaurant and curling up together with books—medical textbooks for him and work-in-progress horror short stories for her—Percy and Sam had been inseparable. Eventually that friendship turned into something breathtakingly more, before it fell spectacularly apart.

When Percy returns to the lake for Sam’s mother’s funeral, their connection is as undeniable as it had always been. But until Percy can confront the decisions she made and the years she’s spent punishing herself for them, they’ll never know whether their love might be bigger than the biggest mistakes of their past.

Told over the course of six years and one weekend, Every Summer After is a big, sweeping nostalgic story of love and the people and choices that mark us forever.

This is a complicated one for me to review. What do you rate something when you can see that the writing was good but it truly just wasn’t something for you. Cheating trope, friends who treat each other like enemies and more love triangle situations than you can possibly count and this one truly was just not for me. I did read it all in one sitting because I really needed to know how everything was going to pan out and I knew if I stopped I wouldn’t pick it back up. I am willing to try more by this author because I do think that I will like their other books more than this one but this truly wasn’t for me. I also don’t even think the characters should have necessarily ended up together because all they did was hurt each other. This felt real and sometimes it’s good to see flawed characters. I really just think this wasn’t one for me but if these kinda things are not as triggering for you I think you could still like this one.

I did enjoy the book, it was an easy read. I liked the time jumps and back and forth. I did read one golden summer first so I knew the ending. But it was a cute story. It also shows their flaws and has some drama. And lots of humour! I would recommend reading this before one golden summer!

I really wanted to like this, but I found myself cringing a lot. I do not at all mind flash backs into younger years and then older years, but I would prefer them to be short and sweet, maybe snippets and fade to black, I really felt like the characters who were older were exactly the same tone and vibe as the younger ones and could not get attached to them. I have started the show and so far am enjoying it, this may just be one where the book is not better than the adaption, time will tell. 🌶️ 2/5 Not great...
