The Instant New York Times Bestseller!

An enemies-to-lovers spicy novella set in the world of video gaming from the New York Times bestselling author of Problematic Summer Romance—now in print and ebook!

Includes an all-new bonus chapter!

Viola Bowen has the chance of a lifetime: to design a video game based on her all-time favorite book series. The only problem? Her co-lead is Jesse F-ing Andrews, aka her archnemesis. Jesse has made it abundantly clear over the years that he wants nothing to do with her—and Viola has no idea why.

When their bosses insist a wintery retreat is the perfect team-building exercise, Viola can’t think of anything worse. Being freezing cold in a remote mountain lodge knowing Jesse is right next door? No, thank you.

But as the snow piles on, Viola discovers there’s more to Jesse than she knew, and heat builds in more ways than one.

⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 📖 My Thoughts Not my favorite Ali Hazelwood read but still worth no less than 3 stars. It's a novella so I can't be too disappointed. Enemies to lovers romance requires a bit more length I think and this was just too short for me to get into Viola's and Jessie's tension and chemistry. The miscommunication, reconciliation, and ending came so fast it was hard to process it all. ⚠️ Trigger Warnings Graphic: Sexual content, Death of parent Moderate: Alcohol, Cursing, Sexism Minor: Infidelity, Bullying, Sexual harassment 🌶️ Spice The spice happened so quickly after they moved past their miscommunication and it was mostly awkward. I guess not really my thing? Meh.

Really enjoyed this. My only gripe is it should be longer. Or I’m hopeful for a sequel. Theres SO much more that can happen with the story, like ups and downs of the game being developed and them working together and being open with their relationship while working together. Side characters were also fun. 🌶️ 3/5 Spice in this was hot!!! Loved the “oh we shouldnt” but then “umm we cant resist?” Lol Delicious.

Ali Hazelwood’s writing follows a blueprint that ensnares me every. single. time. While the concept of a forced work retreat with a rival company seems rough, what I wouldn’t do to be holed up in a snowy lodge drinking hot chocolate and spending time with my love. Though this work is so short and littered with miscommunication, I loved the mutual pining and the nerdiness of our main characters. As a fellow gamer and book lover, their interests hit home for me and overall, this novella just worked for me.

I loved this. It was cute, it was fun, and as much as I'm not usually a fan of a miscommunication trope, this worked. Very enjoyable read once again from Ali!

Viola is a video game designer and has the amazing opportunity to design a game based on her favorite book series. When the company she works for sends her and her team on a retreat with another company, she is pushed toward her "nemesis," Jesse. After time and time again, he makes her aware that he doesn't like her and would rather be anywhere but around her. But when they are forced to work together, they must find common ground. I really enjoyed this story. It was similar to most of Ali's other books that I have read but it was still enjoyable. I always love the "I think they hate me, but it turns out they really love me" realization that comes from a lot of her books.

this was fine, but not a standout of Ali Hazelwood's. I will admit that the audiobook narrator was not for me, which I think lessened my enjoyment of the overall story; I wish I could read it in print to see if that would change my opinion.
