Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
"'Welcome to the Knight Bus, emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard. Just stick out your wand hand, step on board and we can take you anywhere you want to go.'"
When the Knight Bus crashes through the darkness and screeches to a halt in front of him, it's the start of another far from ordinary year at Hogwarts for Harry Potter. Sirius Black, escaped mass-murderer and follower of Lord Voldemort, is on the run - and they say he is coming after Harry. In his first ever Divination class, Professor Trelawney sees an omen of death in Harry's tea leaves... But perhaps most terrifying of all are the Dementors patrolling the school grounds, with their soul-sucking kiss...
Having become classics of our time, the Harry Potter eBooks never fail to bring comfort and escapism. With their message of hope, belonging and the enduring power of truth and love, the story of the Boy Who Lived continues to delight generations of new readers.

EDIT Will never get tired of this one. Same rating as last time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT Still in love with this book. Not much to say here. Still a Hall of Fame and 5 star read for me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay so 👏🏻. As usual, I loved the absolute hell out of this book. Remus and Sirius are two of my most absolute favorite characters of all time. The plot for this book was absolutely amazing. I genuinely didn’t want to put it down. The character development and world building was absolutely incredible in here, and I loved it so much. Peter pissed me off so bad, fucking Snape too. Don’t even get me started on those two assholes. Overall, I rate this book nothing short of 5/5 stars, and I’d read it again, even without doing a re-read.

I have been waiting to get to this one because I love Sirius so much. Prisoner of Azkaban has always been one of my favourites from the movies and so far it is my favourite book as well. I love everytime we get a new character because the voice acting in this is just incredible. I didn’t realize how much more evil Snape is in the books than what was portrayed in the movies, and this isn’t coming from a Snape fan. I’ve been enjoying seeing all the extra detail that these give to the stories I already know and having already seen the movies I can’t help but picture scenes as they come up. I will say as someone who’s reading the books after watching the movies I think they did a really good job on the movies and stayed so close to the storyline, obviously the books always have more detail such has the mastermind that is Crookshanks but they come pretty close.

*☆4 stars☆* The third book in the Harry Potter series has us joining Harry and his friends for their third-year adventures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While each year has been anything but uneventful for Harry and his friends, this year feels quite different. An escaped mass murderer is on the loose, Dementor's are looming, the cat and rat are acting weirder than usual, and Harry's past seems to be lurking in the shape of a dog with omniscient yellow eyes at every dark hallway and corner. Is it all connected and how will Harry and his friends solve this year's mysteries? Prisoner of Azkaban was always my absolute favorite movie out of all the movies, and while I can't say for sure that the book will be my favorite out of all the books, I enjoyed this so much. The writing, as always, is quirky and heartfelt. There were parts that dragged for me, like the quidditch scenes in particular, which isn't a surprise as those weren't my favorite in the movies either. I love that the familiars and animals take a front seat in the storytelling for this book. Crookshanks, Scabbers, and Buckbeak add so much comical relief and flair. But truthfully, I think the reason why the movie and this third-year's story is the best for me is because these characters are at the precipice of innocence. They are still children, but you get to see them experience really adult themes and know that it is altering who they are and what's to come. Not only that, but we're introduced to characters who have been ostracized from society because they are different and not by any fault of their own. This feels so prevalent to the climate of our own world today and it has deepened the story's meaning for me. This series will always be timeless in my opinion. If you're looking for a story to lighten your load from this heavy world, the Harry Potter series will deliver. This is hands-down the best of the "first" Harry Potter books. It does a great job tackling more "mature" themes like death, grief, prejudice, and justice in ways that are approachable for children. More than that, the plot (imo) is easily the most engaging of the earlier installments and executed very well. Overall, I really don't have any critiques on this one, though it might be because it was my favorite when I was growing up.
