4.5 stars, rounded up for GR This book is quite unlike anything else I've read. The overarching story is truly unique, dark and deeply engaging. The "Work" really highlights the twisted nature of power and how those with it just want to keep for themselves, as well as always wanting more. However, the book is heavily character driven. No one in this story is without their flaws and it makes the story so much interesting. I was heavily invested in the characters, Briar and Seb especially. I wanted to know everyone's history because they were layered and beautifully human. This is one book I'll definitely reread because I think you can take something new from it with each reread.
