I'm swaying between 2.75 and 3 stars I can't say I loved Metal Slinger. I only rated it as I did because I enjoyed the beginning and found the ending interesting. However, Light Wielder basically destroyed any interest I had in this story. Like Metal Slinger, I feel this book could've helped with cutting 100+ pages because it feels like a lot of bloat. Nothing...happens? The majority of this book is spent talking about what they'll do. I also struggle to accept there's a war on. I feel like things happened too easily and the war plot was set on the back burner. I felt very little chemistry between the main couple. The cycle of them being at odds, then together, then at odds again was tiresome. I lost interest in both of their individual stories as well. The saving grace in this was Messer and Fredrich. At times, I even liked Irina. I only finished this just so I knew the ending.
