EDIT: My rating hasn't changed from the last time I read this. Tis still a 4/5 star read for me, but I did actually have fun this time! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, so first of all: this is my least favorite book in the whole series. I somehow liked it a little more this time than I did last time. I loved Myrtle and Peeves in this book. I was genuinely laughing whenever they'd show up. I genuinely hate Lockhart with my whole being. Not so much of hate, as he's just a huge pain in the ass. I hated him as the DADA teacher, and he's one of my least favorites. Tom Marvolo Riddle is very hot. That's all I'm saying. Dumbledore pissed me off as usual, but what's new? The plot for this book was.. not boring, but very slow paced? and it was kind of the same thing over and over again. Overall, I give it a 4/5 stars, and when I do my next re-read, I'll read it again.

I am enjoying reading through this series for the first time. I like getting all of the more in depth details to fill in what was missed in the movies. Snape and Lockhart are even grosser in the books while in actually liking Ron more in the books than in the movies. After watching the movies multiple times and reading so much HP fanfiction I miss having more Hermione. She’s not as prominent so far in the books than she was in the movies, and I’m so glad that’s something they changed because she’s my favourite part. Excited to continue my journey with prisoner of Azkaban and see Sirius!

“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” What I loved: ✿ childhood magic ✿ "the chosen one" trope ✿ masterful world-building ✿ Ron's humor What I disliked: ✿ that I'm reading as an adult My second or third time reading this, and I appreciate it much more than I initially had. The magic of childhood and friendship fighting against this world's evils softens this hardened heart of mine. Also, I am still so pumped about the "Tom Marvolo Riddle" = "I am Lord Voldermort". That's such a fun twist for still to this day. Trigger warnings: Bullying, Child abuse, Blood, Violence, Death, Injury/Injury detail, Death of parent, Child death, Murder [✿ Connect with me on instagram ✿](https://www.instagram.com/literarily_laurynn?igsh=aTh6eTZ6dGwxMXpy&utm_source=qr)
