I am quite literally speechless. I’ve been putting this series off for years, but I’m finally reading it, and I’m so glad I decided to. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this series, and I already know I’m going to love this series. However, I do have Greek Mythology research to do now 🫡. I loved Annabeth. When I found out that her mom was Athena, I think I squealed for about ten minutes. If I would’ve read this a few years ago, I genuinely think I wouldn’t have liked it, so I’m glad I’m reading it now. Overall, I give it 4.75/5 stars, and I definitely recommend it. It wasn’t a complete 5 stars because of a few things that confused me, but I still loved it.

I always forget that this is how the series starts off. For some reason, I think of book 2 as the beginning. This was a really nice refresher and I surprisingly didnt remember very much besides the spiders and medusa, everything else felt new and fresh. I had a blast with it, super easy writing style with some humor that admittedly made me smile a lot. I love the way fights and gore were handled. As a child, I just glossed over those things and took it at face value, but as an adult im inferring a lot more and being like wowww yuck. Truly a great read for any age, in my opinion.

I completely forgot how young Percy was at the start of this series! I still adore this book series, though a fair amount of what happened in this book doesn’t exactly seem feasible for a twelve year old. I feel like the Gods are far too easy enemies and sometimes they felt very juvenile

The line “There is a new Golden Age coming. You won’t be part of it.” hits me just as hard now as it did when I was younger. I love this series so much!
