This isn’t something I normally would have picked up but the fomo got me and I had to see what all the hype was about. I am so glad that I picked this up and gave it a chance. I did the audiobook for this one and Jeff Hays absolutely killed it. It took me a while to get through because I kept pausing to pick other books up but I really enjoyed this. I totally understand all of the Princess Donut hype now because I absolutely adore her! This book had action and humour and an interesting plot, I’m excited to continue this series and see where it goes. This is definitely something I would have watched but not read so I’m glad I gave it a chance and excited about the upcoming show.

One of the most entertaining books I've read in a long time. I would highly recommend the audiobook, It's completely fantastic.

PERFECTION! It's like if Dungeons and Dragons meets the social aspect of Hunger Games fused with a video game. SUCH a blast to read. I don't think I've ever cackled as much during a book as I have with this. Princess Donut the Queen Anne Chonk is a fucking diva and I adore her. The humor in this book was top tier, genuinely. Yet, for all its hilarity, it had some genuine moral complexity and depressing shit. I look forward to continuing this series.

This book is totally unhinged... and I loved every second of it. The banter between Carl and Donut is hilarious, the action is wild, and it’s just nonstop fun. The audiobook is easily one of the best I’ve ever listened to. If you like video games, LitRPGs, or just chaotic, clever stories, this one’s a blast. Silly, snarky, and somehow still addictive.
