*This new edition includes a very special, never-before-seen bonus story, 'Pages to Fill.'*
After a lifetime of bounties and bloodshed, Viv is hanging up her sword for the last time.
The battle-weary orc aims to start fresh, opening the first ever coffee shop in the city of Thune. But old and new rivals stand in the way of success — not to mention the fact that no one has the faintest idea what coffee actually is.
If Viv wants to put the blade behind her and make her plans a reality, she won't be able to go it alone.
But the true rewards of the uncharted path are the travelers you meet along the way. And whether drawn together by ancient magic, flaky pastry, or a freshly brewed cup, they may become partners, family, and something deeper than she ever could have dreamed.
“Take a break from epic battles and saving the world. Legends & Lattes is a low-stakes fantasy that delivers exactly what's advertised: a wholesome, cozy novel that feels like a warm hug. This is my new comfort read.”—Genevieve Gornichec, author of The Witch's Heart

Love how cosy this was, I feel like it’s the perfect December read. So quick and easy to follow, making it the best kind of audiobook!

I really liked it. It reads easily, and for the first time I truly felt the coziness in a cozy fantasy book. Everything was warm and delightful, and people helped each other even through tough times. I loved the heavy-handed Pratchett-style modern references and appreciated the humor. The romance felt a little underdeveloped. Otherwise, loveliness all around!

3/5 ⭐ 0/5 🌶️ Tropes - Found family - Low stakes 📖 My Thoughts This was a really cute, heart-warming story. It wasn’t anything spectacular honestly, just a little slice of life following a female Orc who is retiring from the adventurers guild and wants to start her own coffee shop. It was atmospheric with its mentions of coffee and pastry making and a cozy small town where everyone knows their neighbor. It had slight romance, but honestly wished there had been more to make it a bit more exciting. ⚠️ Triggers Triggers include a bit of violence, arson, and stalking. 🏳️🌈 Representation The two main characters are sapphic, but honestly I felt like the author didn’t do an amazing job representing the relationship. I wasn’t aware that they were into each other until over halfway through.

This was cute! A very low stakes cozy fantasy, there wasn’t a lot of plot going on so I wish that we would have had more romance in this to make up for it. The romance was only the tiniest sprinkle of a subplot. I would have enjoyed this more if there was either more of a romance plot or more going on story wise. I do like a good low stakes cozy fantasy but this definitely felt like it was missing something. I will probably continue on with this series because I do own another of the books and hopefully that will catch my interest more. I honestly feel like this would be a good animated series, but as a novel it felt a little lacking.

Imma be honest here. I wasn't sure if I was even going to like this book. I'll just spoil the rest of this cause Im not the kinda person to spoil the whole book. So... Viewer descression advised there be spoilers ahead. <spoiler>So we start the book at the tail end of a boss fight where Viv deals the final blow and just skips town on the rest of her party with a stone in hand. Do we know anything outside of its name (that I don't feel like looking up lmao) no not really. She goes into a town looking for a place to set up her coffee shop but literally no one knows whats shes talking about outside of the gnomes where she got the idea from. So once she found the spot to put her shop she goes to the the pier and we meet a new face named Cal. He helps her (with a small fee) with clearing out the old horse stuff that's been there for God knows how long and gets the shop to where it actually looks like a coffee shop and not a horse stall. </spoiler> <spoiler>Skipping ahead, Viv puts out an advertisement for extra help and here comes the love interest, Tandri. Did they start out liking each other? I don't particularly think so. Anyway it doesn't take long after that that they open up the shop. As one would expect the first few weeks of the store open they don't really have very many customers come though even though there's free sample. Thats until a rattkin comes through literally everyday with flour constantly on his apron. So, Viv hires him and now we got a whole crew cause Viv and Tandri both are baristas and help each other out. </spoiler> <spoiler>Viv starts having her doubts that what she's doing is her own work or like the power of the stone. Which is put to the test cause someone set the coffee shop on fire (it's green fire so it's not as easily put out) and the shop burns to the ground. After the fire mostly goes out on its own, Viv goes to look for the stone and surprise surprise the stone isn't there anymore. But after all that her friends come together and rebuild the store together. Along with some side characters that appear here and there. </spoiler> Honestly it was a really good book I just don't think it deserves the five star. At least not yet. Did I leave a few things out? Yes. But that's only because I didn't want to tell the entire story in my review cause that's not what it's there for. It's for you (the reader currently looking at my review) to see if you even want to read this book. Would I recommend this book to everyone in a 50 mile radius? Yes but I would warn them that it starts at the end of a fight. And there's no sexual stuff even though there's a succubis involved. Which is kinda a stereotype for all succubis to be all about sex but I didn't see that here not even once.

This is the cosiest of cosy fantasies. I didn't even think of that as a genre until I read this book, but its just so cozy! The book just makes you feel all warm and happy inside. It's just such a joy to read. I was so happy to go on the journey with the MC and to see not only her dreams come true, but her found family come together to help her when things got hard. It's honestly a beautiful story, and even when we hit the climax, you know that it's going to be okay, because it just has to be! I didn't know how it was going to be okay, but I knew that it would. For me, that made the book even better. Don't get me wrong though, it was still definitely an emotional climax!
