Read this alongside a book club and I absolutely loved it! The magic system is so unique and the class system was very interestingly done, the ending had me in a chokehold.

4.5 stars, rounded up for Goodreads eating My partner asked if I wanted to read this with him, he said it was about lesbian necromancers so I was immediately locked in. I won't lie, the first 20% I could not get into. I know with a new world, new lore, things are confusing so you just have to enjoy the ride but I struggled. However, all of a sudden something clicked and I was asking to ride the rollercoaster again and again. This book is clever, witty, heartbreaking and I won't lie, still a touch confusing but I think that's part of the charm. I'm so glad I stuck it out because I would never have experienced such brutal guilt and humanity that is chapter 30 and 31. Just an FYI, while there are lesbians and necromancers in space, there's also so much more to this story. I can't wait to enjoy the next book in this series.
