House of Earth and Blood
The first book in the #1 bestselling Crescent City series by Sarah J. Maas, author of the Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series.
Bryce Quinlan had the perfect life-working hard all day and partying all night-until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She'll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths.
Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose-to assassinate his boss's enemies, no questions asked. But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he's offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.
As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City's underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find, in each other, a blazing passion-one that could set them both free, if they'd only let it.
With unforgettable characters, sizzling romance, and page-turning suspense, this richly inventive fantasy series by #1 bestselling author Sarah J. Maas delves into the heartache of loss, the price of freedom, and the power of love.

Okay wait no because I actually loved this book so much. I love the new world, and all of these new characters. I found this to read like Throne of Glass did, and I definitely enjoyed it more than A Court of Thorns and Roses. I love that series, don’t get me wrong, but TOG and CC are better than ACOTAR. I love Bryce and Hunt. So, so much. I can’t wait to see how their relationship goes from here. I’d also like to see even more of Ruhn next book mwehhehehehe 🤭🤭. Danika’s death hurt. It did. But Lehabah’s hurt so much more. She didn’t need to die. Not at all. Just ~ Ow. Overall though, I give this book 5/5 stars, and I can’t wait to continue on.

Fun read, loved the graphic audio highly recommend. I also enjoyed how it didnt end on a major cliff hanger, and the characters were fun had lots of different quirks that made them unique. Great banter and pacing was really good. I am curious to see where this series goes, these are some thiccc books though! 🌶️ 2/5 Chemistry was for sure there, and I do enjoy a slow burn...

Holy fucking shit. I absolutely adore Bryce, her character is probably the most relatable of all SJM’s main characters, and I love that she’s a curvy girlie! This book had me laughing at times and absolutely bawling at others, I will be diving into book 2 immediately. Light it up, Bryce 💋
