Okay so there’s a lot I want to talk about here. I love this book with my whole damn heart. I love Adam Carlsen so much omg. He’s literally perfect. Adam and Olive are definitely my current favorite book couple. I’m honestly at such a loss for words about this book. I didn’t want it to end. I can’t think of anything I dislike about the book. When the fake break-up happened, I was crying at 3 am like a baby. Like it genuinely hurt me. Also Tom fucking Benton. I want to kill him. I’ve never hated a book character more than I do Tom. Now, let’s talk about chapter 16. Chapter 16 and 17 were two of my favorites in this book. The smut was absolutely perfect. He fit her whole fucking boob in his mouth- I- someone please find me a man like this. Also, if Olive is 5’8, HOW TALL IS ADAM? BECAUSE IF SHE HAS TO STRAIN HER NECK TO LOOK AT HIM- 😟. Anyways. The book is a full 5/5 stars. If it was up to me, I’d give it 10. I absolutely loved it, and I’ll most definitely read it again.

I’m glad I had this another go because I liked it so much more this time. As always I love the fmc, Ali truly makes me fall in love with everyone of her fmcs from page one. I love them even more than I love her leading men. Fake dating never fails to get me, although I shouldn’t have read this back to back with another fake dating because I ending up comparing them and didn’t like this one as much. I feel like we didnt get to spend enough time with Adam and Olive, there were so many mentions of them going to get coffee every week but it’s something we hardly ever seen on page. I’m a huge dual POV girlie so with single POV I really need to see more interactions between the characters to feel it to the same degree. That being said I do really like the characters banter when we did get to see them together and the book even made me cry a couple of times. (I’m as massive sap) THE BONUS POV THO. 10/10 I wish we had Adam’s POV the whole time because while it was obvious to everyone except for Olive that he was absolutely gone for her, to see the absolute yearning for her all book long in his POV would have been incredible. I still prefer Ali’s paranormal stories but I enjoyed this and can’t wait for the movie.

Am I giving this a five star? Yes, yes I am. It was so funny & charming. It brought tears to my eyes on several occasions. The characters felt true to who they were and the ending wrapped everything up for me. And while yes, it can be annoying when rom-coms do the 3rd act breakup, it made sense for the story and for who they were.

Another very cute and sciency story from Ali. She certainly has a type with men tho… big, bulky, giant, would probably knock shit over in a science environment just from breathing on it, or crush a glass tube thingy with his bare hands… but still somehow is a genius with only a few social deficiencies… The banter in this is great. I also love a good “fake dating” trope. Theres not a huge age gap, but i lol’d when she would poke fun at him for being older haha. The side characters were awesome as well, so much personality. 🌶️ 2/5 This didnt really start spicing until about 70%. Im sensing a trend of slow burn, hot spice, then 3rd act break up before all is well with her books. I do like that her spice scenes arnt like exact copies of one another, I mean the dudes overall look seems to be very similar, but they all have different quirks that make them unique, so thats nice.

I’m not much of a romance girly, but I did enjoy this. Olive and Adam were extremely oblivious dorks, extremely cliché and trope-y, but I still ate it up like Dunkies.
