Charlie the Choo-Choo is a very short story about a sentient old train that goes into retirement and becomes dissatisfied with not being used. While it's a simple story, it gives a good message of how even when we're faced with the shiny and new, sometimes embracing the old is better, as those things were actually meant to last (and let me specify that I'm talking specifically about objects here, as I'm a firm believer that ideas should change). Stephen King's creepiness continues to shine through unsettling illustrations and a catchy rhyme, even if the story itself isn't horrific.
