I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. While this is a series of interconnected standalones I have read the first one and this follows the same timeline so events that occur in the first book are mentioned in this book as well. Personally I liked this book better than the first one as I could connect to the characters better. This book starts with the backstory and the FMC is 6 years old, this helps to understand how and why the characters are doing certain things within the book that they might not normally do. This section you could theoretically skip but I wouldn't as it does give the background that made me love this book a lot more than the first one. The smut scenes in this book are very well written I would say that its a 2/5 or 3/5 for spice level and again if you don't like spice you could skip these scenes as they don't move the general plot forward but they do move the relationship forward as the FMC becomes more comfortable.
